[Exodus 10:14-15]
v.14
"And
the locusts went up
over all the land
of Egypt,
and
rested in all the coasts
of Egypt:
very grievous were they; before them
there were
no such locusts
as they,
neither after them
shall be such.
v.15
For they covered
the face
of the whole earth,
so that
the land
was darkened;
and they did eat
every herb
of the land,
and
all the fruit
of the trees
which the hail
had left:
and
there remained
not any
green thing
in the trees,
or
in the herbs
of the field,
through all the land
of Egypt."
These verses take us back to the Nov.15 Word:
..."The End" H2625...
= "locusts" and reference to Egypt/a type of the"world" serving as an example of *darkness* and what "The End" looked like just before God's people went through the Red Sea .. escaping death and the bondage of Egypt .. as God sends a *dark* plague of locusts destroying Egypt's food supply.
...H697 "Locust"...
= "sudden disappearance" ...H7235 "numerous/many"
= cloud of locusts moving and what it looked like covering the sky and land in overwhelming numbers in their sudden arrival and quick disappearance .. as they swooped and flowed together in *dark* groups weaving in and out across the land devouring everything in their path.
While verse 14 gives us assurance that God will never use locusts to completely strip the land again .. we know from the Book of Revelation that God will .. instead .. use other means to shake the wicked that dwell upon the earth.

[Job 3:9..18:6..38:2]
Job laments the *dark* day he was born and destined to face the depressing trials that would descend upon his life.
Nevertheless we can rejoice with him because of the way our Father often brings joy .. after sorrow and *darkness*.. as we also witness the ultimate blessings that followed Job's most *dark* and depressing days.
[Psalm 69:23]
King David cries out to God .. also from his *dark* days .. in this Psalm .. physically weary from much crying over the way he has been mistreated by his enemies .. asking God to counter the attacks of enemies by blinding them with *darkness* and making them so weak that they are unable to cease from shaking.
[Psalm 105:28]
Listed among those with whom God has personally interacted we find this account of how God intending to send *darkness* upon the land actually kept the people from rebelling against His Word .. proving that there are times when *darkness* motivated people to turn back to obeying His Word .. and they were spared from the destruction the *darkness* would have brought to them.
[Psalm 139:11-12]
While we assume that *darkness* can hide everything .. the reality is .. God can see everything right through the *darkness* because God does not see any difference between *darkness* and light. His Word tells us that He .. Himself .. is Light and there is no *darkness* in Him:
[1John1:5]
v5.
"This then
is the message
which we have heard
of him,
and
declare unto you,
that God is light
and
in him
is no darkness
at all."
[Ecclesiastes 12:2]
Youth is like the light of day .. safe and carefree.
But as we age we see things appearing both physically and spiritually *darker* as the reality of life and death become increasingly more evident.
[Isaiah 5:30]
God is disappointed in His people. All He has invested in them has failed to produce a blessing.
The potential value of what He sowed was ignored resulting in bondage because they insisted in seeing life from a backward perspective .. calling good "evil" and evil "good" bringing destruction instead of the blessing He wanted to give them.
Therefore fire and destruction comes until all they are able to see is the *darkness* .. so now .. even the heavenly lights .. in the heavens become *dark* and they no longer see God's message there .. but only a *dark* counterfeit message.
[Jeremiah 13:16]
Jeremiah warns the people to "give glory" to God .. honor him for who He is .. make Him preeminent in their life or *darkness* and death will come upon them.
[Amos 8:9]
v.6
A time in end times will come when people will be bought and sold .. (trafficking and persecuting the poor and those belonging to God).
v.8
A time will come when everyone will mourn like in the time of Egypt and the Red Sea crossing .. when God's people left that place representing the worldly system and God rescued them out of slavery to "a land flowing with milk and honey".
On that day .. a day that resembles the departure of God's people from the known world at that time ..
the sun will go down at noon and God will *darken* the earth on a clear day.
v.11
That is the day they will reap the consequences of neglecting the Word of God .. so in haste they will dig for it .. but it will be too late .. it will not be found .. nothing will be left .. no money .. no clothing .. no food .. no joyful song .. no water to drink .. no spiritual Water of Life to find in the Word of God.
In that day their false religion will not save them.
They will fall and never rise again.
Yes .. *The Darkness* and *The End* speak clearly from these Hebrew numbers.
*Greek*
[G2825]
[small bed • couch]
= place to recline at meals
(or perhaps similar to a
large booth with table)
= a bed on which a sick
person is carried
These examples both picture a way of resting .. one restoring strength by eating .. and the other .. an example of being moved to a place of rest and recovery.
Both descriptions can be applied to:
1..Resting and feeding on the Word of God which is our spiritual Food/Bread that feeds our spiritual life.
2.. Those helping others by taking them to the Word of God/Jesus to be spiritually and physically healed.
