"Behold,
the LORD
will carry thee away
with
a mighty captivity,
and
will surely cover thee.

He will surely
violently turn and toss
thee like a ball
into
a large country:
there shalt thou die,
and
there the chariots
of thy glory
shall be the shame
of thy lord's house.

(not the real Almighty Lord of Heaven and Earth).
The foolish people are saying "eat, drink' (/take intoxicants), and 'be merry' for tomorrow we shall die".. not grateful to God for life and no regard for the reality of death and hell .. just living for the next moment to gratify the flesh.
God responds with assuring them that .. indeed .. they shall have it their way .. but also .. captivity .. death .. and hell awaits those who do not value the life on earth God has given them.
This is Isaiah's prophetic Word from God delivered to the ungrateful before their historic destruction.
The number H2925 presents God's method of dealing with ungrateful humans throughout history when they go their own way and reject Him and His position as Lord of all creation .. possessing all legal rights as Creator.
So instead of receiving the blessings God desired to grant them .. they choose to keep God out of their life and attempt to "bless themselves" gratifying their own selfish desires .. which never turns out well.
Therefore the message God gives to Isaiah to present to the people is a serious warning found in verse 18 .. God saying He will "carry them away and surely 'cover' them."
H5844 gives the meaning of this type of "cover" as "to bind up" .. "tie up like a prisoner".. and "carry away" as bringing into captivity.
In other words .. when God punishes the wicked .. whether in Old Testament or New Testament .. whether in Isaiah or Revelation .. He ultimately brings the rebellious God rejectors into a position of slavery .. under beings even more wicked than themselves.
This is validated in end times as it is also described in detail in the Book of Revelation.
