"And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings, to the brightness of thy rising."

= to rise • come forth
= break out
= shine • come out
= appear
Often it seems it is darkest before it is pitch black .. nevertheless .. no matter how dark it gets .. the Word of God promises that the darkness will definitely be followed by His Light .. and ultimately He will appear in person.
We see this pattern throughout God's Word .. as He promises light coming out of darkness over and over again until .. ultimately He will appear (Himself) out of the darkness .. as He .. Jesus .. "the Living Word of God" .. appeared in history .. on the earth the first time .. to bring salvation and way to eternal life through His teaching .. death .. and resurrection.
So no matter how dark the world becomes .. we are promised that it is God's nature to ultimately bring the Light that gives renewed hope and life .. throughout history .. until His Light and blessed hope actually .. visually .. appears at the end.

The Greek Word "preserve" also describes the "Light of Life" as seen appearing in history with the coming of Christ .. who came to save us from ourselves .. and our own darkness .. by bringing the Light Jesus brought into the world the day He took on human flesh and was born "as one among us".
True to G2225 .. He was "brought forth alive" to "give life and preserve life" at just the right moment in history.
G1096 confirms Jesus "appearance in history" .. while G2226 confirms the reality of Jesus becoming a human being .. defining the characteristics of what it means to be human .. to live .. breathe freely .. having true actual life upon the earth .. blessed forever when included in the Kingdom of God .. evidenced by morals and character .. as He became the "Living Water (of the Word of God) demonstrating the power of God on earth .. bringing forth the dawning/"Light".. of a new Way of Life by shining the Light through His Word .. His life .. His death .. and His resurrection.
