... It's a Pickle Picture ...
*Please Note:
While "Jesus did it all" ... when it comes to our salvation experience ... there is still some things required of us ... just like any relationship.
The reason He still receives all the credit and praise in anything we are able to accomplish is because He provides everything spiritually .. physically .. mentally .. and emotionally in order to do all that is necessary to succeed in acquiring eternal life where only genuine Love and joy exists ... IF we are willing to follow His "recipe" for success ... that can be found pictured in our grandmother's simple recipe used to preserve pickles.😊
"WHAT??"
*The blessing is found in the details:
While taking a closer look at the Greek numbers in a portion of the Word in my study recently ... I was led to number G907 and when the study took a strange turn into the topic of "pickles" ... (yes ... "pickles") ... I stumbled across an amazingly clear example given to us regarding how to acquire and "preserve" eternal life ... first discovered by the Greek poet and physician, Nicander ... (approx. 200 B.C.) ... as he revealed how cucumbers become pickles and how it involves two different methods ... and definitions ... that both describe the same Word, "baptism."
An added blessing is found also in the way the recipe reminds us that Jesus' ministry was ... and still is two-fold:
1..Preaching the Gospel of salvation
2..Healing the sick ... which addresses more than physical illness ... but motivates us by the totality of the Word of God ... to understand that healing can involve anything the Holy Spirit leads us to do ... to love ... and personally provide "hands on" help for those who have no help ... which can include ... mind ... emotions ... and body ... in addition to spiritual salvation experienced by turning from sin and receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
*The Ingredients:
[Pickles]
= "people"
[Water]
= "Word of God"
"That he might sanctify
and cleanse it
(Church..God's people)
with the washing
of water
by the word..."
(Ephesians 5:26)
(Ephesians 5:26)
[G907 = wash]
The first step to preserving pickles is to wash and cleanse them of any dirt.
It is the Word of God that provides the Faith ... and information we need ... to find salvation in Christ by an initial washing with the Water of the Word ... cleansing ... turning away from sin and then establishing a relationship with Him ... making Jesus the preeminent Authority in our life.
"So then faith cometh
by hearing,
and hearing
by the word of God."
(Romans 10:17)
by hearing,
and hearing
by the word of God."
(Romans 10:17)
[G908 = calamities and afflictions]
Continued washing will also involve some scrubbing ... therefore purifying with the Truth of the Word of God will usually result in some difficult ... often abrasive ... changes in our life as we turn from the influences of the world to follow the narrow road of Christ.
[Salt]
= purifier
= preserver
= flavor enhancer
"Ye are the salt
of the earth:but if the salt
have lost his savour,
wherewith shall
it be salted?
it is thenceforth
good for nothing,
but to be cast out,
and to be trodden under
foot of men."
(Matt. 5:13)
[Vinegar]
= made from wine
= Wine = picture of Blood of Christ
= vinegar as picture of the "healing part" of Jesus' two-fold ministry
= vinegar used to cleanse and balance acid in the body
= in Biblical times the soldiers drank vinegar with hyssop ... so offered it to Jesus on the cross when He said, "I thrist."
28
"After this,
Jesus knowing
that all things
were now accomplished,
that the scripture
might be fulfilled,
saith, I thirst.
29
Now there was set
a vessel full of vinegar:
and they filled a spunge
with vinegar,
and put it upon hyssop,
and put it to his mouth.
30
When Jesus therefore
had received the vinegar,
he said,
It is finished:
and he bowed his head,
and gave up the ghost.
(John 19:28-30)

[G909-911 = continuous immersion]
Finally the pickles are continuously being preserved through immersion in the Water (by diligent study of the Word of God) to which we also find .. Salt (Truth of the Word led by the Holy Spirit) .. and Vinegar (made from Wine).
Here we have a completed picture of genuine believers in Christ continually "immersed" in the Water of the Word ... remaining pure in an uncorrupted spiritual environment by the power of the Holy Spirit that is imparted by the Word ... preserved by the vinegar that has been produced by the Wine and symbolically represents the redeeming Blood of Christ ... also absorbing the salt to provide wisdom, grace, love, and joy in their environment ... being changed ... having a new "enhanced flavor" ... as they watch and wait for "the sound of the pickle jar opening" ... the day they hear the Voice of Jesus and are drawn up and out ... when He appears and takes them ... to the special seat reserved for them ... at the table of the King.

A fun and fresh look at the word of God! Timely as well in this "pickle season." Blessings, dear sister!
♡Thank you for your thoughtful reply Tammy, dear Sister in Christ
... and your mutual appreciation of the blessing in knowing that our Father is always speaking to us in many (sometimes even rather strange) ways and realizing that He never fails to have something to teach us ... if we are paying attention and waiting to learn.
❤ Much love back to you!
